Outbreaks of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza are required by UK and International Law to be notified, described and controlled using strict control and consistent measures. It is critical for Northern Ireland that Poultry premises of interest are identified quickly and accurately so that diagnostic and control measures can be implemented to return to normal trading as soon as possible. The loss of days of trading is a huge loss to the Poultry Industry. Any premise of interest identified, and dynamically mapped and monitored throughout the outbreak. This allows all DAERA staff to be kept informed about the current status of premises of interest.
Premises of interest, in terms of HPAI are identified and categorised as suspect, infected, dangerous contact, contact, tracing premises. These categories may change quickly and it is important to allow staff to visualise the up to date situation
