Habitat map for the 4 sites (Ballycam, Corbally, Carrowcarlin and Loughkeelan) that make up Lecale Fens (UK0030180) SAC Northern Ireland. Habitats for the 4 sites were surveyed in July 2017 (Corbally) and July 2018 (Ballycam, Carrowcarlin and Loughkeelan) as part of the CANN project by AFBI.
Collaborative Action for the Natura Network (CANN) is a cross-border INTERREG VA project that aims to improve the condition of priority peatland and wetland habitats and support targeted priority species on 25 designated sites throughout Northern Ireland, Ireland, and Scotland. Delivery of the project is managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). The lead partner is Newry, Mourne and Down District Council. Other partners are Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute; Argyll & The Isles Coast and Countryside Trust; Armagh City, Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council; East Border Region; Golden Eagle Trust, the Institute of Technology Sligo, Monaghan County Council, Scottish Natural Heritage, Ulster University and Ulster Wildlife.
It is intended that this map will be reviewed as required. This version was completed on 11 March 2021.
